Celebrate wildlife and culture from across the globe this Easter holiday.
Join us from Saturday 5 April – Monday 21 April 2025 to embark on an unforgettable journey around the world, right here at Marwell Zoo.
Pick up your Marwell Explorer Passport and set off on an adventure trail around the zoo, where you’ll you encounter storytellers and live entertainment, as well as our expert Animal Keepers, who’ll share facts about the endangered species they care for from around the world.

Marwell Explorer Passport Trail
Collect your very own Marwell Explorer Passport* and set off around the zoo to discover animals from across the continents, collecting stamps as you go. Complete the trail to claim your limited-edition Explorer badge!
*additional cost – includes a pack of crayons, park map and limited edition badge.

Adventure storytellers
Daily, 10.30am – 3.30pm
Join our storytelling adventurer, who’ll share enchanting tales of the scimitar-horned oryx, white-clawed crayfish and snow leopard, and reveal how Marwell has helped these special species.
- Tale of the scimitar-horned oryx – 10.30am / 11am / 11.30am
- Tale of the white-clawed crayfish – 12.30pm / 1pm / 1.30pm
- Tale of the snow leopard – 2.30pm / 3pm / 3.30pm

Live entertainment
Enjoy captivating performances from one of our roaming acts* – including a spectacular African dance troupe, stilt walkers and bubble performers. Which one will you see on your visit?
*Please note that one roaming act will appear each day, subject to weather.

Meet the keepers
Our expert animal keepers will be on hand to share fascinating facts about the animals they care for. Download our app for all the latest feed times.

Face painting
Daily, 11am – 4pm
Transform into your favourite animal with our animal-themed face painting.
Additional cost: £6 per face / £6 for glitter tattoos.
Suitable for ages 3+. Face painting may not be suitable for children with sensitive skin or known skin conditions – please speak to the face painters on the day. Children must be supervised.

Conservation Discovery Room
Daily, 11am – 4pm
Can you identify individual zebras from their stripes, or find snow leopards in the wild? Perhaps you have an ingenious idea to protect the rainforests, which you could add to the Tree of Knowledge?
Get hands-on with some amazing animal artefacts in the Science and Learning Centre, and see how Marwell supports animals around the world through our conservation projects.

Photo opportunities
Capture memories to treasure with five Around the World in 80 Species photo opportunities around the park.

Delicious world cuisine
Take your tastebuds on a journey too, with an array of world cuisine available at food outlets across the zoo.
Throughout the Easter holidays, you can also treat yourself to afternoon tea in Grade I listed Marwell Hall. Reserve your table online to guarantee your place.

Big Easter Egg Hunt
Sunday 20 April, 10am – 4pm
Join us on Easter Sunday for some hopping good fun!
The Easter Bunny has sent two special bunny helpers who are playing hide and seek around the zoo. If you can find them (look out for their long ears), they’ll reward you with an egg!
Dietary options available – please ask the helpers.
